Does the airbox on a 2002 rsv-r mille have a 10mm thick aluminium spacer between its top and bottom?
It also  has aluminium inlet trumpets, are these standard?

No on both counts. Ali ring would have been for an open airbox kit of some kind.

+1

The stacks.... Are they short billet stacks?

If you measure the throttle bodies on the inside at the butterflies with a vernier gauge or caliper, you may well have some of the (ultra rare) Evolutzione 54mm throttle bodies
Question everything.

Thanks for the info Diablo. The bike currently has an aprilia titanium evo exhaust with an evo chip to match. I was going to fit one of redrats collectors with a forza chip next until I discovered this. I was told by the previous owner that it had a modified airbox. Is it best to leave the box as it is or go down the evo airbox route ? I presume the aluminium spacer has been fitted for a reason. Is the air filter standard?
Apologies for all the questions Confused

The ally ring/spacer is to hold the filter (non standard K&N or equivalent) to the top of the airbox and keep it in position.

I would still do the RedRat collector mod for the midrange  extra punch and run an Forza Aprilia FR200 chip.

Ideally you want your throttle bodies sync and Co and ecu trim pots set up, after all the mods -To really get the best from it. All the mods work together bud.

Question everything.

the 10mm spacer has basically made the airbox bigger so all good , ,if it works well leave it.

the collector will help ( yeah I would say that ha ha ) airfilter may be a freeflow one but again just leave it.

The ally ring is what should hold the evo air box seal in place and the spacer under the filter is to lift it so the tank holds it in place when you take the top off the airbox, looks to me like previous owner took the evo seal off and put the airbox lid back on for whatever reason?
Mine doesn't have the filter spacer as evo did 2 heights of filter and I have the taller.
