Mornin you ugly bunch. my woodpecker of a bike is getting rebuilt. Getting a new frame for mine is a no go due to the stupid Danish tax system. So I've been talking to someone and this week my frames being looked at to see if it can be repaired. Why we're at it the exhaust will be getting fixed too.
It's going to take a while due to still not back at work and finding the parts it'll need but I need somthing to do so it's rebuild time. So if you notice a funny new smell around here it'll be meWink
ive just got my first vtwin and i think i got the right one

Good to see you here mate, how's the body repairs going?

There are loads of frames going on ebay complete with V5's for almost no money, it seems crazy you are forced to repair something so busted up!

It's ridiculous. If I want to use another frame I have to pay 180% tax on the value of the completed bike even if I am using the rest of the old bike. Sometimes I wonder how this country can survive with all its stupid laws.
Body repairs are getting there thanks. Had a close call recently they thought I might need more surgery on my leg as its not healing properly. Turns out it is healing just very slow.
I've started a back to work scheme and now up to 20 + hours a week to which is nice. Once I get to 37 they'll pay for my welding certificates to get me back at work. I'm working at the local technical college in the motor mechanics spot building test beds for engine's. The bonus is I get use of the entire college that includes welding lathes and all the best toys plus free car repairs

I’ve got a spare subframe your welcome too if it helps and won’t get taxed to oblivion.

I would get a new frame in the workshop and accidentally re stamp it with the old numbers, but it would definitely be accidentally

Thanks for the offer spoons but I'm good for a subframe thanks. I'll be rebuilding it as my version of a tuono with a ever so tiny BMW 1000rr seat unit and subframe.
I thought of that hemi but their on top of stuff like that here. Someone on here, can't remember his forum name has gave me an ex works frame with no number. Been in touch with him to get it over but I was getting silly money quotes for shipping it here. As for getting a frame here that'll be a no. Scrap yards ain't allowed to sell frames from damaged bikes. So it's either repair this one or find a reasonable price to get the works frame here or buy another bike and they ain't cheap here

Well here's my fame and as you can see there's a big lump missing. This going to be challenging. I'll either make up an aluminum tube and replace the lot or see if I can get hold of a headstock and use just the bit I need

'kin ' ell! ! Shocked

I know you're a good welder and all but....... Confused

Rather than try and repair that why not weld up a trellis frame ^Al la  Ducati and use the ape swing arm?
Or is that a no no as well?
I presume they must have custom bikes over there?

Custom bikes LOL
The only modifications you can do here is bodywork and as far as I can tell. Even an after market exhaust can get you in trouble if they feel like it. As for making a frame knowing this place there'll be so many laws and taxes it'd make it close to impossible. Otherwise that's not a bad idea

Hey Rybes me old mate been wondering how you have been getting on. Great to see you back buddy. I know last time we spoke you told me about the import tax its a ridiculous situation. I reckon your best bet is the works frame even if its expensive your frame looks fubar.
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left

Wouldnt ever consider any type of 'repair' on a frame that badly damaged.
People say I don't know Jack Sh1t; but I do, he lives next door.

Well bad news on the frame. As the headstock is cast ally I've been told not to weld it as there's no garuntee on the strength as cast is full off impurities. So now I just have to get the other frame here and build that up
