After some very helpful advice here I've been in the club for a few weeks. managed to get a good deal by heading north as the weather started to cool down. Still getting used to the torque after a squirrelly rear end (once removing the Shepard's pie from my pants) and the bike's probably going to hibernate until the Spring.

Front screen replaced with a clear version and just need to remove the lower frame sliders as keep whacking my shins on them and think that will be it for mods. Sounds so good

Thanks a lot guys, 16k on the clocks but it was the condition/quality upgrades/1 previous owner that made me go for it. Also wanted to get one already with Arrows/Akras as know they'd cost a lot more if I bought them separately. Really pleased to be in the club. Excuse the slippers, I was quite excited when it was delivered

We can forgive the slippers, but that fence needs some creosote urgently.

Famous last words... wasn't the end of the mods.It looks like Spring is just around the corner so thought I'd update here what I've done over the winter:

- Removed lower frame sliders
- Fitted original bars that came with the bike
- Clear double bubble screen
- Smaller gearbox jet screw
- US spec side stand
- Leaking oil tank repaired
- Oil change
- Oil filter change (and o-ring)
- New plugs
- New Oberon clutch slave cylinder
- New Clutch fluid
- Rocker cover gaskets replaced

That is a right beauty. Even under its clothing.

Thanks a lot. Forgot to add one of the wing  mirrors snapped so replaced that, presume it was from continual folding over the years.

Going to enjoy the bike this year and think next winter I'll reposition the rear brake master/slave cylinder and look into a Sigma clutch. Shame I can't use these Acculign rearsets to mount a master cylinder/slave cylinder as they look like a decent bit of kit. Will get this dyno'd soon and update also!

Can't see a way to mount a rear brake master cylinder

you certainly can't with the acculign ones.

Need AP ones or Giles or TRW ones to mount it the preferred way.

Of note the heel guards are on the wrong sides. I had a set once in black. See if I can find a pic for you to compare

That's a shame as they look really well made. Thanks for the heads up on the heel guards, that would make sense with the taller part facing rearwards. Nice easy job for tomorrow.

Thanks, glad it gets the forum approval. The more I ride the bike the more I like the character of it.

Coolant change and replaced the leaking front brake reservoir. I thought the brake was good before but it's even better, although did leave a cable tie on the lever overnight. Has made blipping on downshifts easier with 2 fingers on the lever.

It does, might have to get a couple of those, much better than having the alloy ones corroding constantly

New Aprilia Performance rearsets and Pirelli Diablo Rosso Cora 2's fitted. Have only done 70 miles on the new tyres so taking it easy but liking the pointer profile (190/55). Having a working back brake is a revelation and shifting feels more direct I'm sure.

Finally admitted management isn't going on the back so fitted exhaust hangers that do away with the pillion foot pegs.

Yes technically, this did confuse me originally. When I asked about it here it was mentioned 'Gen 2 were for model year 2004, but production started in August 2003'.

The recent wet weather was the motivation I needed upgrade my rear brake slave cylinder. The feeder pipe attached to the standard reservoir was slightly absorbing fluid and arguably could have been replaced, but liking the tidier look.
